It is assumed that the first 45 nm processors phenom X4 Socket AM2+ will possess the limited compatibility with some motherboards due to the special features of its power system . The passage of processors to socket AM3 will solve the compatibility problems , and at the same time ensure support to DDR- 3 memory .
As reports associate, Asus company already published the list of motherboards, capable of working with socket AM3 processors after a simple Bios update . Processors with socket AM3 in socket AM2+ motherboards can work only with DDR-2 memory . But if we install them in socket AM3 motherboard , they can work with DDR- 3 memory .
