AMD company already lay in the program platforms openCL and DirectX for calculations acceleration , whereas NVIDIA intensely moves its own CUDA platform . Microsoft company intends to introduce the support of graphic calculation in the future versions directX.
As reports associate the December drivers catalyst 8.12 will noticeably enlarge the number of applications, capable of using the computational resources of AMD video chip for accelerating its work. AMD also updated the instruments set for developers, which allow to optimize applications under stream computing platform. Microsoft companies and Adobe intend to propose the adapted versions of their programs in the beginning of next year. AMD representatives consider that OpenCL and DirectX will extrude CUDA from the market for graphic calculation, since they will become the widely used standards. However, NVIDIA and Intel can join the number of new platform supporters . NVIDIA already participates in the creation of openCL standard , and it will be able to assure compatibility of its CUDA platform . | ||
