We already reported about Intel plans to replace the 45 nm processors havendale with the on 32 nm clarkdale processors . Let us recall that these updates touched predominantly the processor core, which now will be produced on 32 nm technology, and chipset processor part will be as before released on 45 nm technological standards.
Clarkdale processors will have a multi-chip layout: 32 nm , computational core will be united on one base layer with the 45 nm crystal (chipset part) . The latter will contain the graphic core. For the production of both crystals , materials with high dielectric constant value will be used (the so-called high- k dielectrics).
Architecturally the processor core will relate to the generation nehalem/westmere. They support the technologies hyper-Threading, Turbo boost and hardware data coding acceleration ( AES standard ) .
Clarkdale processors will obtain 4 MB cache in the third level, dual-channel memory controllers with support to DDR 3-1333, and also the graphic core with support to one channel PCI express x16. For such processor Intel will release the chipset Intel p55/p57 which support two video cards : PCI express x8 + PCI express x8.
Finally, clarkdale processors will be released in the design concept LGA 1156 - this will allow them to preserve compatibility with the motherboards , intended for the four core processors lynnfield. The announcement of clarkdale processors is planned for the first quarter 2010. Related Products :
