GlobalFoundries Representatives demonstrated some material , which confirm the successful mastering of new technologies. In the two photographs is visible a plate with six-core AMD processors opteron (istanbul). These processors are designed for release according to the 45 nm standards
In the fourth and fifth photographs is shown a test plate, obtained on SOI technology with the 32 nm. According to globalFoundries data , this technical process is already ready for series production. Test plate contains certain simple logic processor and memory circuits. Passage to the 32 nm standards will allow to increase the transistors operating speed by 40% in comparison with transistors, made according to the 45 nm standards. The deliveries of finished AMD production, prepared on 32-nm technical process SOI, is expected in 2010. Concerning mass 32-nm technical processes, it is already mastered by AMD and it will begin in the second-half year.
Finally, a pair of photographs , test plate with SRAM memory , prepared according to the 28 nm standards.
GlobalFoundries can propose mass 28-nm technical processes in the beginning of 2010. The gain in terms of crystal size and energy consumption, ensured by passage to the 28 nm standards, is even more significant than 32 nm standards; therefore 28-nm technical process is especially attractive for GPU production. In this region globalFoundries hopes to outdistance TSMC. Related Products :
