In the first quarter 2011 the architecture sandy bridge will be prescribed in the desktop and mobile segments, and in the second half-year it will start expansion in the server segment.   However, according to  official Intel statements,   then the company speaks only about the beginning of mass processor production with  sandy bridge architecture - as usually, the deliveries of processors will begin the at the end of present year. If we consider that deliveries for OEM- market begins several months before the formal announcement, it is possible to say that first representatives of sandy bridge architecture will appear in the first quarter  2011. According to official press Intel release:   Processors on base of sandy bridge architecture will support the new instruction system Intel advanced vector extension (Intel AVX). It answers the growing need for intensive floating-point calculations in applications working with photo,  audio and video, 3d- simulations, numerical analytical methods, scientific studies and finances. Sandy bridge will include the graphic core Intel sixth generation, optimized for accelerating operations with  floating point, and the performance of programs, which need intensive use of resources (multimedia tasks). The support of AES- NI expansions will be preserved, which were inculcated in 32 nm processors westmere generation. They help to accelerate the operations of data coding. At the end  of 2011 will start the release of 22 nm processor ivy bridge, which has many features of sandy bridge architecture, but will transfer them to the more progressive technological process. We should add that the processors sandy bridge with the integration of graphic core on one crystal with the computational core will allow to be turned in the general cache. Let us recall that westmere generation processors memory controller was located on one crystal with the graphic core, and computational core and cache were placed on other crystals. The monolithic crystal 32 nm processors sandy bridge excludes a physical separation, which must positively affect the speed level.   Related Products :
