Last week were introduced two platforms, which will be presented by Intel company in connection with the passage to sandy bridge: architecture LGA 1155 and LGA 2011. The first must be used by desktop processors and server processors initial level, the second is the exceptionally server solution.
Associates systematized information about the design concepts of sandy bridge generation processors. We considered that the platform LGA 2011 will come as change to LGA 1366, but this it is not entirely correct. In any case, in the server segment the successor of LGA 1366 is the platform LGA 1356.
The processors LGA 2011 can work in servers with processors quantity up to four pieces, two-processor configurations will be realized within the platform LGA 1356. LGA 2011 processors will have from four to 8 core , 20 mb cache in the third level, support four-channel memory DDR- 3 and 40 lines PCI express 3.0. For connection with adjacent processors will be accessible two channels QPI.
The processors LGA 1356 will have from two to 8 core, 20 mb cache in the third level, support three-channel memory DDR- 3 and 24 lines PCI express 3.0. For connection with other processors will be used one channel QPI.
The processors LGA 1155, used in the server and desktop segments will be as a whole similar, but in the first the PCI express controller will support 20 lines interface, and in the second - only 16 lines. Monolithic crystal will contain from two to four computational core, two graphic core (one of them can be inactive), three or six megas-byte cache in the third level. Support to dual-channel memory DDR- 3 is provided. Related Products :
