Associates explained that 22 nm processors ivy bridge will preserve the design concept LGA 1155, but new motherboards for them will be required. In essence, the compatibility with LGA 1155 is provided predominantly for convenience of motherboard producers. Possibly, motherboards on the base of chipset panther point can work, also, with 32 nm processors generation sandy bridge.
The platform maho bay, in its composition will enter 22 nm processors ivy bridge and their supporting chipset panther point, it is capable to work with three displays simultaneously and support DirectX 11.
