The development of the computer industry is on the extensive way, implying the expansion and improvement of existing technologies, increasing the quantitative characteristics.    IHS iSuppli analysts Agency estimate to increase the recording density on magnetic platters used in the construction of hard drives in the next five years. According to the study, the cumulative average growth rate of areal density is 19%.  For example, last year the density was measured by the value of 744 gigabits per square inch, in 2012, the value will rise slightly, to 780 gigabits per square inch.  Meanwhile, in 2013 the figure will be 900 Gb per square inch, after three years the density double.  The diagram is as follows: Improvement of recording technologies triggered an increasing demand for hard disk drives associated with the need to store large amounts of data.  Seagate promises to increase the amount of hard disk drives up to 60 terabytes in the next 10 years.
