Soon on the solid-state hard drives market a revolution will arrive . As it was expected, Intel will release its SSD version in the fourth quarter this year. Intel disks will differ significantly from the existing proposals from other companies, in the first place, on the operating speed.
Actually, competition to the promising intel product can compose perhaps only micron products . Let us recall that this last some time ago already announced the promising realSSD with reading speed up to 250 Mbytes/s.
However, intel company decided to divide the market for solid-state into two categories : for servers and for usual computers. In the first category will be proposed disks, built on the expensive flash- memory with SLC cells, they can ensure the reading speed of up to 240 Mbytes/s t (writing speed up to 170 Mbytes/s ). the second, cheaper family will consist of MLC disks . The reading speed will be the same 240 Mbytes/ s , but the writing speed will not exceed 70 Mbytes/s.

Server disks will obtain the designation X25- E, they will be released in the 2.5- inches form factor and have 32 and 64 Gb volumes. They will appear in the last block this year. In the same period will appear the SSD, X25- M, whose capacity will be 160 GB . However, at the beginning of the following year , Intel will be release the optimized 80-GB models SSD for MLC microcircuits, and also solutions, made in the 1.8- inch form factor.
