Relatively recently Intel SSD for the first time fell in price, and month a ago Intel company presented the 160- GB version SSD X25- M.
Now, we have some information about further Intel plans in the development of solid-state disk . Prior to the end of this year Intel plan to double the capacity of SSD- devices due to the passage from 50- nm memory to the production on chips made on 34- nm technology.
SSD X 18- M and X25- M will include three devices types with capacity: 80, 160 and 320 GB. The products class high-end, X25- E, will be limited to only two representatives, whose capacity will be equal to 64 and 128 GB. The memory controller will be updated : it is expected that its performance will be even higher than X25- E.
Furthermore, Intel company planned a update for Intel turbo memory, known as Braidwood. This must occur in the first quarter of 2010 and will affect mass PC. Computers on base of second generation ibex peaks (Chipset Q57, P57 and H57) will include such technologies. The braidwood modules will obtain a volume with 4, 8 and 16 GB. Related Products :
