The overclocking of processors Kentsfield have two basic obstacles: motherboards on the base of chipset i975X do not allow to raise the system bus frequency more than 300-350 MHz, and compatability with motherboards on the base of chipset Intel P965 was limited.these obstacle to a certain extent are conditional, since the solid motherboards producers have not provided compatability with Kentsfield for products on the base of chipset P965, and went around the limitation in the bus frequency easily by allowing the free multiplier of processors Kentsfield. on the pages of forum XtremeSystems was reported the results of processors Kentsfield overclocking .those cpu was from stepping B1 and B0 in Asus P5B Deluxe (Intel P965) using Tuniq Tower 120 air cooling solution.  the processor of stepping B1 successfully get in the 400 MHz on the bus, paired with multiplier 9x ensured reaching the clock frequency of 3.6 GHz. For air cooling this is completely decent result. Alas, under the load processor was hot from 46-71 degree Celsiuss,  The most interesting, that the processor of stepping B0 was as high as 435 MHz . In other words, the union of high-qualitymotherboard on the base of chipset Intel P965 and processor Kentsfield can result in nice overclocking result
