Microsoft researchers and scientists from Carnegie Mellon University (USA) developed a portable system that allows to use a sheet of paper, table top, wall, or even a human hand in an interactive graphical surface. The proposed device does not require any sensors on the used area, because it uses a digital camera with a depth sensor, such as Microsoft Kinect. This system allows to monitor the movements of user's fingers and recognize depression and movement, creating the illusion of working with a touch screen.
As for the projector - it can display buttons or icons, or other user interface elements on almost any surface. It is equipped with device that scan the form and location of the surface, to minimize distortion. Automatic calibration of images is made in real time. This device is called OmniTouch .
