In October last year, OCZ introduced the SSD drives Octane, based on Indilinx controller . Around the same time, began selling 128, 256 and 512 GB models, the 1 TB version will hit the stores in the middle of this month.
The model OCT1-25SAT3-1T combines Indilinx Everest controller, a set of memory chips, MLC NAND, made on 25 nm technology, and 512 MB DRAM, used as a cache. The memory device interface supports SATA 6 Gb / s and with the serial data blocks is able to demonstrate the speed up to 460 MB / s (read) and 330 MB / s (write). Performance of random access blocks 4 KB is measured by the value of 24,000 input / output operations per second (IOPS) for reading and 32,000 IOPS when writing.
As is the case with other versions, Octane 1 TB is characterized by support for technology TRIM, NCQ, ECC, AES-256, and a whole range of mechanisms, prolonging the life of SSD.
