Experiments prior to the creation of the first radar devices, physicists have begun in the late 80-ies of the XIX century, and almost fifty years it has taken to inventors to radars began to be used for its intended purpose. Emitting radio waves and recording their reflections from objects, the radar is able to determine their range, speed and geometrical parameters.
Originally radars have been used in warfare, but in the XXI century the principles of radar can be used for peaceful purposes.
WiTrack has a transmitter which emits signals to a low power (1000-fold weaker than the cellular network, and is 100 times weaker than Wi-Fi). Those, in turn, reflected from a human body and recorded several receivers. Based on these results WiTrack with remarkable accuracy determines a person's position in space, the device is capable to even "see" through walls. In the future WiTrack can be used not only to determine the position of the person, but also recognize individual movements and gestures that can be interpreted in a team system "smart home".
