Helio X20 is the first mobile processor 10 core MediaTek. It recently presented its special version of Helio X25 with increased frequency. And now, MediaTek is preparing a successor to the present Helio X20.
According to GSMArena, MediaTek has started creation of Helio X30 processor. It will consist of three processor clusters, one of which includes two Artemis core clocked at 2.8 GHz, the second - four core Cortex-A53 processor with a clock frequency of 2.2 GHz and a third consisting of four core Cortex-A35 processor with a clock frequency of 2 GHz . Artemis is the successor to the Core Cortex-A72 and a direct competitor of Kryo from Qualcomm, whereas the Cortex-A35 cores have high energy efficiency and their productivity is 40% higher compared to its predecessors. Also, Helio X30 is equipped with 4-core GPU PowerVR 7XT and will be supported by a 26-megapixel camera and dual LTE Cat.13.
According to sources, Helio X30 will be released on 10-nanometer process technology FinFET. The first mobile device with Helio X30 will be released in early 2017.
