Today Elpida memory, well-known memory supplier of dynamic random access memory (DRAM), presented the first 1- Gbit XDR DRAM memory with 32- bit interface.
The new XDR product as it is asserted, is the fastest available , operating at the frequency of 7,2 GHz. This even faster than GDDR5 memory standard. The data exchange rate can reach 28,8 GB/s.
This high operating speed allows to recommend this memory in high performance devices, which work with HD- video: blu-ray disks, gaming consoles, digital TV.
New XDR- memory is produced by Elpida using the 65- nm process, it has a supply voltage of 1,5 v, the 32- bit interface and the packing 104-ball FBGA or 150-ball FBGA. This is compact one chip solution, which consumes 30- 40% energy less than two 512- Mbit chip XDR DRAM with 16- bit interface.
The deliveries of new XDR by the company already started , mass production will begin during April. Related Products :
