Recently, in the controller Marvell 88SE9123 were discovered some deficiencies (SATA 600), which impede its valuable work on mass motherboards model  . For this reason, some producer (Asus, Gigabyte and MSI) refused to use this chip in their P55 motherboards  . Gigabyte in this case hopes that at the end of August motherboards on base of  Intel x58 chipset will be able to support SATA-600. Associates assume that the controller Marvell 88SE9123 can badly get on motherboards with the six-layer design, but it is capable to work normally on motherboards with eight-layer design.
