We've learned that the projectors are mainly used to display images on a large surface to a large audience.  Meanwhile, the emergence of the so-called pico-projector allows to build such devices, even smartphones, and the image produced by them can simulate the mobile device to connect to an imaginary monitor.  According to the publication EE Times, Microvision company in cooperation with STMicroelectronics is going to promote a new generation of miniature projectors that take no more than 0.65 cubic centimeters, thus allowing to project an image on almost any surface with auto focus. The projector uses a laser beam, and dispenses with the lens, it is cheap enough to mass produce.  Sony has a couple of years experimenting with such projections, but gradually showing interest in them, and other manufacturers of smartphones.  According to the developers, the device has many possible applications.  In addition to the built-in projectors smartphones, which could demonstrate the bewildered audience all sorts of "Pokemon", these projectors could be used in "smart" glasses and virtual reality headsets.  The image in this case, can be projected directly into the eye by placing the projector on a rimmed glasses. In the automotive industry data projectors have their application possibilities.  Firstly, it is a projection display, which displays the information directly on the windscreen in front of the driver's eyes.  Secondly, this laser radar - the so-called "lidar" that use reflected from objects laser beams of infrared spectrum to determine the distance to an obstacle.  Such devices are in demand "automatic control" cars, and Microvision solution due to its compact size and low price will make the "autopilot" more accessible.  Moreover, miniature projectors find application in robotics.
