	easy ... do some multiple RAW-coverting with adobe lightroom 2 and even the slowest phenomX4 will eat the q6600. this is possible, because lr2 supports and profits from real quad-cores. in games the phenom is actually slower, but with future games like anno1404 or harvest with multiple real-core support the phenom will be faster than a q6600 too.

	Such a load of crap. Yeah, LightRoom supports \"real\" quads and thus is faster. B.S. Lets see ANY real numbers to support this. A X4 9850 might be able to beat a Q6600 @ stock speed in a VERY small number of scenarios, but if you add OC\'ing into the mix then AMD just looks pathetic. The ONLY reason to buy an AMD quad is if you already have a compatible MB and want to save money.

hes right you know. Phenom has better IPC and interconnect. while Q6600 has to do it all via the FSB. the only crap is when its clocked to slow. Phenom will gain alot of speed with just a merge clock increase. and its impressive to see one Phenom II core beating the Q6600 in almost everything. considering Amd\'s core is smaller thus and has less transistors. But hes right about the native quad core part. right now mainly servers benefit from it but it wont be long before desktop will take the advantage. and this is something intel knows and it has made core I7 to counter this. AMD is ahead with its Phenom II design in the mainstream market while intel only targeted the high-end. and those crappy benchmarks aren\'t worth much right now. just wait until software takes true advantage and you will see its fast enough. Windows 7 will prove you soon enough

	You guys do realize that you are comparing a next-gen AMD quad with a stoneage Intel quad, right? A fair fight would be comparing CPU\'s from the same generation. ;) I don\'t defend anything or anyone. I just stick with what works best out there and right now it\'s Intel CPU\'s by far. hint: I still do keep and worship my 64-bit Sempron from \"that\" time, though. :) Just my two cents.
