As it is known, OLPC noncommercial organization plans to pass from the release of student netbook to the production of plane-table computers, utilized for educational purposes. The basic problem is to fix the production of devices, which cost not more than $100 with the present technologies development level is impossible.
Indian scientists released plane-table computers for educational institutions, which cost $35. With time India intends to reduce the cost of the device to $10.
It is interesting that Nicholas, chapter and ideological inspirer of OLPC project, published an open letter to the Indian developers, proposing them to complete the developments, which refer to student computers XO.
According to OLPC chapter, Indian plane-table computer must be intended to the school students with the age from 6 to 12 years.
