Seagate released 1 million units hybrid solid-state disk model Momentus XT . Introduced in May 2010 the 2.5-inch drive Momentus XT combines the best attributes of a standard hard drive and SSD NAND-memory speed . Thus, at present this storage solution reached a volume of 500 GB (7,200 rpm), directly on the hard drive and 4 GB SLC (single level cell) NAND flash memory. This combination provides extremely fast application loading while maintaining a high density and relatively low cost. Today's Momentus XT drives are sold as standalone products and are also available in laptops, for example, such as: ROG G73JH from Asus, VAIO VPCSC1AFM / S from Sony, Satellite E305-S1990X from Toshiba, as well as M17X M18X from Alienware. Hybrid drives are projected to be installed on 25% of new PC put on the market in 2015 , thus, Seagate plans to aggressively advance its portfolio further. | ||
