OCZ technology group company continues to count on solid-state disk; therefore on the exhibition CES it showed several new flash device, including vertex 3 pro and Vertex 3 EX SSD with SATA 6,0 Gbit/s interface and Z -Drive R3, which has a PCI-Express x8 connection.
Both Vertex 3 disk have 2,5- inch form factor and use SandForce SF-2582 controller, furthermore, SSD will has the reading and writing speed 550 mb/s with 525 mb/s respectively.
Oriented to use in corporate sector Vertex 3 EX is built on SLC (one-level cells) NAND and demonstrates productivity at the level 80000 IOPS for random 4K writing , while the oriented to end users Vertex 3 pro include MLC (Multi-Level cell) NAND flash- memory it reaches the productivity level 75000 IOPS. The solid-state disk vertex 3 will be presented in the following versions: 50 Gb, 100 Gb, 200 Gb and 400GB.
Z -Drive R3 has four SandForce SF-1565 controller in RAID regime, uses MLC, eMLC or SLC NAND flash- memory, and speed read/write 1000/950 MB/s, and productivity at the level of 135000 IOPS for random 4K writing. Z -Drive R3 will be presented on the market in 150 GB, 300 GB and 600 GB for SLC and 300 GB, 600 GB and 1,2 TB for eMLC/MLC version.
