MediaTek company is known mainly due to its affordable processors for mobile devices, but recently it decided to seriously win luxury segment, where its decisions to compete with high-quality chips Snapdragon. According to NextPowerUp, MediaTek is preparing for the announcement of several new chips from series Helio, including Helio X22. It will differ from Helio X20 only increased clock speed. - 2 core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with a clock frequency of 1.0 GHz.
Helio X20:
- 2 core ARM Cortex-A72 processor with a clock frequency of 2.5 GHz;
- 4 core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with a clock frequency of 2.0 GHz;
- 4 core ARM Cortex-A53 processor with a clock frequency of 1.4 GHz.
This week, MediaTek announced that for the second quarter of its 2015 profit decreased by 12% compared to the previous quarter and 49% compared to the same period last year. During the reporting period the company received 20% less revenue than a year earlier. According to MediaTek plans , in the third quarter gross margin will be between 42.5 to 45.5%. By the way, the Chinese market share of smartphones based on MediaTek chips with support for 4G LTE has increased from 15% to 40%.
